Here is out list of the most underrated watch companies. We chose these companies due to their innovation, design and affordability.
Each brand stands out to me personally, due to their rich history and impressive features, which most companies don’t usually push the types of boundaries as say Hamilton, especially within this price point – averaging $500 – $1,000.
So without further ado, here are the top 4 most underrated watch companies as of 2020.
1) Frederique-Constant
Freqerique-Constant has been designing really impressive watches at a very attainable price. They are always innovating while retaining quality design. Also, they’re not afraid of giving you unique complications, for example, the Moon Timer Moon Phase complication. This features date function and water resistance along with a threaded crown. They pay very high attentions to detail and deserve more recognition.
2) Oris
The Oris Pro Pilot is an absolutely stunning watch which features perpetual day/date, large Arabic numeral hour markers which pop out from the black dial. The Atelier Regulateur is simply amazing. A beautiful and sophisticated which you can find brand right around $1,000.

3) Mido (Swatch Group)
Mido is a manufacturer of Swiss watches and has been around since 1918. The Mido Baroncelli Heritage II is a stunning watch with a classic minialistic design and perpetual date. A perfect dress watch or an everyday watch. The Mido Multifort Chronograph is another tough watch with unique design aesthetic. Both of these watches are underrated. Mido Certina DS-2 Chronolympic is the watch that climbed Mount Everest.
4) Hamilton (Swatch Group)
The Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart is perhaps my favorite automatic watch under $1,000. It is the first watch I saw that I had instantly fell in love with. The Jazzmaster Open Heart has a skeleton face displaying a ‘beating heart’ automatic movement and Arabic numerals marking the 12, 3, 6 & 9.
Hamilton has designed watches, sometimes custom watches, which have been featured several films. In particular, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Men in Black III, Intersteller, Ocean’s Eleven, The Dark Knight Rises are just some of the many high grossing films featuring a Hamilton.
